Small groups

We do small group instruction every day as a part of our daily instruction. Each day there are 3 small groups to which the children are assigned. This is a time for structured learning. Here are our small group activities from this past week. Small group instruction is great for a number of reasons. It teaches responsibility and following rules, it gives students more individualized attention from the teachers, and it is also a great opportunity for me to assess how the children are progressing in their skills.

1. Numeral bingo

2. Letter formation. We use magnetic shapes to form and identify letters.

3. Floating science experiment. We had to save the polar bears from drowning by placing them on the icebergs (Styrofoam)
